2-platen clamping mechanism for overwhelmingly small footprint, energy saving and high cycle time
As a pioneer of 2-platen injection molding machines, which are now mainstream in the global market, UBE Machinery has developed this highly reliable 2-platen mold clamping mechanism based on its many years of technological development and extensive experience. It contributes to carbon neutrality by realizing a rational factory layout with an overwhelmingly small footprint, as well as further energy-saving and high-cycle operation. In addition, the 4-point equal mold clamping and improved mold clamping parallelism are mold-friendly and enable high-quality molding with fewer molding defects.
Dry cycle shortening technology for high cycle operation
Motion of mold release is driven fast by ball screw for mold open/close.(Servo driven mold release mode)
Dry cycle is 40% shorter compared to a hydraulic toggle machine.
Acceleration and deceleration setting during mold open/close is selectable among sharp, standard or soft.
The drive mode is now selectable to target dry cycle time reduction, energy saving operation, or vibration reducing.

Equipped with MAC-IX, a more advanced "connected" control unit
Equipped with the "connected" MAC-IX controller. The MAC-IX features two independent monitors and a swivel mechanism for easy operation, high-speed and high-precision control via EtherCAT® high-speed communication, and IoT solutions for factory monitoring, operating results, alarm history, quality control, and quality analysis.
EtherCAT® is a registered trademark of Beckoff Automation Gmbh.
The lower base improves operation and maintenance functions
The emIII series (1050, 1300, 1600, 2000ton) have the lower base design that provides easy access to control panel, purge cover, and inside mold area, greatly improving workability and maintainability and ensuring safe and secure operation. (em III series)
High-response, high-powered injection, dedicated DD motor
The DD (Direct Drive) mechanism directly connects the injection drive ball screw and the motor, making thin-wall molding possible by low-inertia, highly responsive, and high acceleration/deceleration performance. Maintenance costs are reduced by beltless mechanism, and thick-wall molding, which needs longer holdng pressure times is also possible. The benefits of the DD system are useful for a broad range of process conditions.
Contribution to carbon neutrality (energy-saving performance)
The eco-servo pump system, which saves energy and reduces oil consumption, and the power regeneration system are built-in. The pump is stopped when hydraulic operation is not required and the power generated during deceleration (braking) is reused, contributing to carbon neutrality by carefully responding to energy saving.
Eco-Servo-Pump System
Built-in eco-servo-pump system uses a rotation-controlled vane pump with AC servomotor drive.
Designed to achieve energy savings for each set of operating conditions through highly precise and extremely responsive pump rotation control.
The pump system can be stopped when hydraulic operation is not needed.
Power Regeneration System
The motor operates as a generator during deceleration (braking), sending power back to the power source.
